POSITION SUMMARY / OVERVIEW

NextFlex, America's Flexible Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Innovation Institute, is a public-private collaboration with the mission of advancing the capabilities of U.S. manufacturing in the field of Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE) and designed to facilitate the development of enabling manufacturing technologies and knowledge sharing with institute members and the U.S. Government. The institute is a not-for-profit entity supported by industry, academia and the U.S. Government. Our work enables the next generation electronics for medical, wearable, asset monitoring, structural health monitoring, soft robotics, integrated array antennas, automotive, and agricultural technology applications.

Complementing NextFlex's focus on developing and commercializing emerging technologies, NextFlex's Education and Workforce Development department is creating the next-generation STEM workforce for the electronics industry. In support of our education and workforce development goals, NextFlex develops and operates a portfolio of learning programs designed to be adopted by various stakeholders (employers, higher education, non-profit, and K-12 entities) across the country with the goal of attracting and training the future advanced manufacturing workforce and upskilling and retraining the existing workforce.

The Finance Intern will assist the accounting department with various tasks, including but not limited to, accounts payable, prepare bank reconciliations, and invoices.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Process the account payable and purchasing control functions along with all general ledger activities.
  • Prepare the bank reconciliations and verify to the cash reports.
  • Prepare customer invoices and adjustments as required reconciling the financial system to the operations system.
  • Create reports from the company's computer systems and other supporting programs (excel, word).
  • Ensure proper job cost accounting and assist in the preparation of the appropriate management reports.
  • Verify vendor invoice package before payment - purchase order, receiver and invoice match and are coded appropriately for financial statement purposes. Also, verify that all documents are appropriate.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed for appropriate transactions.
  • Review and process daily/monthly procedures to update balance sheet account analysis.
  • Complete all other duties and assignments as may be requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Accounting/Finance degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
