In order to be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Principal Administrative Associate or be reachable on the open - competitive for Principal Administrative Associate, Exam #1128. The Permits and Customer Service Group (PCS) oversees the issuance of approximately 120,000 disability; not-for-profit and government agency permits annually. We are seeking to hire a qualified, ambitious, experienced, and motivated Principal Administrative Associate Level 1 to assist within Special Permits. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks: - Process monthly applications requests for temporary permits and re-visits into the permit database. - Contact permit holders for missing information and documentation and perform telephone inquiries when required. - Sort and place all new and renewal applications and documentation by date into a monthly file system. - Maintain a daily permit processing log to track the distribution of newly active permits. - Prepare physical permit inventory by punching holes in permits to display dates of validity via month and year. - Prepare permits and cover letters to be mailed to approved applicants.Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue Long Island City, NY 11101Hours/Shift: 35 Hrs./ M-F/ 9am to 5pmThis position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed to between the City and DC37.All resumes are to be submitted electronically using one of the following methods: Please go to www.nyc.gov/careers/search and search for the Job ID #: 759164 Current employees please log on into Employee Self Service at https://hrb.nycaps.nycnet follow the Careers Link and search for Job ID #: 759164 No phone calls, faxes or personal inquiries permitted. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or 2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above; 4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years. Preferred Skills - Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. - Detail oriented and organized. - Self-motivated and work well, both independently and with others. - Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Excellent time management skills and the ability to independently prioritize tasks. - Excellent ability to multi-task. 55a Program This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
