POSITION OBJECTIVE
As the Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for prospecting potential clients, following up on client leads, finding solutions based on client needs, and working with the pre-construction team to create an estimated budget. Additionally, this individual contributes to the formulation of architectural blueprints and engineering proposals, catering to the needs of clients. Due to the nature of the work that J & S does, this is a highly relational role with a focus on team collaboration and internal support. You will be provided with training and coaching and will be able to reply on the shared expertise and experience from more senior Business Development team members. If you possess high integrity, a passion for relationship building, and a entrepreneurial attitude you will excel in this role.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Nurture and grow existing and new business relationships within the construction and real estate industries
- Assist in the architectural design or engineering plans when creating designs or bids for clients
- Prospect over the phone and visit with potential clients in person
- Prepare and give engaging presentations to prospective clients
- Assist the estimating team in preparing proposals and quotes
- Visit job sites and coordinate with project management team to ensure client expectations are being met
- Assist in the development of company marketing plans and goals, and in developing a strategy for client contacts regarding new work, contract negotiation, and future work potential
- Find creative ways to engage with decision makers on building needs and projects
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience within the construction industry; working for an architectural firm, construction company, or engineering consultancy
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment, fostering relationships with Pre-Construction, Project Management, and Executive teams
- Proficiency in working with Pre-Construction team to formulate accurate budgets and project quotes
- Self-motivated, energetic, possess excellent relationship-building skills and ability to conduct oneself with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent communications skills required for interaction with vendors, designers, consultants, and clients
- Possess a strong commitment to values and integrity in all business dealings
- Experience working for a design-build construction firm a plus
