Northstar Behavioral Health is a team of professionals that specialize in medication-assisted treatment through a multi-faceted programming structure for those battling opioid addiction and/or stimulant addiction.Key Result Areas:MAR Errors, less than 3 per site, per monthMedical Service Hours 32 hours/week/Site90% Chart Compliance90% Staff Mantoux ComplianceStaff Turnover 1 per quarterJob Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the Medical Services Department.Clear knowledge of the policies and procedures for the Medical Services Department and Northstar Behavioral HealthDevelop direct staff recognizing future goals and helping implement themAssure that all staff are current on their Mantoux test.Measure compliance on a consistent basis by auditing client chartWork with Provider and NPS Nurses to ensure delivery of provider ordered servicesImplement written policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and suppliesAttend and participate in regularly scheduled staffing meetingsDevelop, Maintain, and periodically update the written procedure for ensuring that professional nursing personnel have valid and current licenses.Participate in new employee orientationEnsure that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to discriminationProvide direct nursing careAssist with the implementation of safety standards for the Medical Services DepartmentMonitor nursing service personnel to assure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and suppliesAssist with implementation of a procedure for the destruction of medicationsOversight of nursing personnel to set up continuing care plans for client discharges, including but not limited to: on-going psych appointments, medical appointments, dental appointments, MAT follow ups.Maintain the confidentiality of all client care informationMonitor medical care to assure that all clients are treated fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respectEnsure that all medical care provided by Northstar Behavioral Health personnel is provided in privacyAssure that all qualified Behavioral Health Technicians and other staff, deemed necessary, are adequately trained to provide medications, through Northstar Behavioral Health Medication Administration Training.Conduct CPR/First Aid training as needed.Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.Maintain a reference library of written nursing material that will assist the Medical Services Department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the clients.Assist with the development and implementation and maintenance of an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.Participate in inspections made by DHS.Provide Health Education GroupsOther duties as assignedRequired Skills & Experience:Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Registered NurseMust have two years of freedom from chemical use problemsMust pass a State of Minnesota Background CheckCPR Certification or attain within 30 daysMust know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and Chapter 260E.Ability to use Microsoft office programs and other computer skills
