The Patient Access Representative is responsible for the provision of those services related to the financial aspects of the Surgery Center, in compliance with policies, protocols and procedures. This individual demonstrates knowledge in the areas related to registration, insurance plans, CPT/ICD-10 coding, billing, collections and general office procedures. Any or all of these functions could be part of the duties of this individual. This individual has the ability to function independently and cooperatively with other staff members. This individual maintains professional and effective working relationships with all members of the health care team. This individual has the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served.

Special Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent
Working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT Coding
General knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry is preferred
Strong customer service experience
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships
Basic analytic skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle challenging customers in a professional manner
