We are looking for a talented COST ACCOUNTANT - SENIOR to join our team specializing in Finance for our Corporate/ CBS Segment in North Charlston, SC / your remote home office.
Primary Responsibilities For This Role Include
Responsible for conducting cost analysis to support management in making operating decisions.
Runs monthly cost updates and/or prepares standard cost data including annual cost role up.
Runs Annual core processes for the reman turbos.
Analyzes cost variances (IPV (Invoice Price Variance/PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and monthly movements), investigates and determines root causes, and prepares recommendations and alternatives for improvements.
Interact with different areas of the plant.
Assists in the inventory valuation process.
Prepares presentation/material with cost variances, and absorption details.
Support and develops business cases for new/existing products and cost reduction projects.
Help to coordinate projects to improve yield metrics.
Other Responsibilities May Include
This developing technical leadership position develops and delivers technical talent in a research, technology or product development environment.
Directly manages the resources that maximize workgroup productivity in support of business needs and implements near term business strategies with a focus on execution.
The position also includes maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders both within the technical function and across the broader business.
Primary responsibility is the development of technically capable people often across multiple technical sites within a business unit or corporate and making these people available to perform duties necessary to satisfy the businesses technical needs.
Provides problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact; helps get teams in place.
Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across function(s) within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units.
Coaches and mentors' employees to provide guidance and direction on resolving problems, technical know-how, removing barriers to progress and career path planning.
Assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
Creates, manages, improves and applies work processes involving activities such as resource allocation and management, organizational and business change, customer/stakeholder management and knowledge management; all used for the purposes of enabling high quality decision making that meets business expectations.
Decisions made in this role may include resource deployment cost and timing allocations, project prioritization, personnel staffing, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management, the result of which can impact project cost and delivery within a site or across several sites within a business unit.
Establishes employee performance standards; works collaboratively to set goals and address areas of deficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Financial Planning and Forecasting - Utilizes financial forecast data to provide forward looking projections to facilitate decision making; partners with stakeholders to analyze trends and validate assumptions to provide a forecast that aligns to the organization's goals and strategies.
Financial Analysis - Interprets financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement; evaluates financial results against targets to communicate conclusions to all stakeholders; ensures integrity of financial data by investigating variances and determining corrective actions to resolve identified issues.
Product Cost Management - Analyzes product costs and variances to ensure inventory is costed in compliance with accounting requirements; applies understanding of differences in fixed and variable costs to record inventory costs in compliance with company policies; evaluates product cost options by partnering with business to optimize current and future product costs; assesses inventory cost variances by reviewing estimates to improve integrity of results.
Product Costing - Establishes total material costs to ensure compliance with policies and completeness of the bill of materials; develops labor and overhead rates to ensure inventory costed in compliance with company policies; analyzes actual cost to understand variances to estimates to improve integrity of results.

Position Requirements
A Bachelors’ Degree is required for this position. It is strongly preferred that candidates have degrees in finance and accounting disciplines. That said, if a candidate has a completed Bachelors AND at least 5 years of applicable working experience, this hiring manager is open to reviewing those candidates.
Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred.
Manager is seeking candidates with 5 years’ applicable working experience in finance & accounting. Specifically cost accounting (understanding cost, credits, debits, absorption, supply chain, direct, indirect, variable, fixed, etc).
Experience specifically in the following positions is considered applicable experience: Cost Accountant & Plant Controller
Candidate(s) need to be proficient users of Oracle
