Job Description/ Responsibilities
  • Configuration, Administration and Support for Linux Enterprise Server Systems
  • Outstanding Troubleshooting and Analytical Skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Responsible for tracking & maintaining and updating the inventory.
  • Participate in Incident Management calls & provide periodic updates during service outages.
  • Root Cause Identification, Analysis & documentation.
  • Creating and Updating Service Operation Procedures.
  • Create and Present Change Requests (CRs) - to be performed on the PRODUCTION setups during weekly CAB Review. (Change Advisory Board).
  • Co-ordinate with the OEM, Hardware vendors for planning Patch events, Hardware Maintenance, firmware upgrades, Bugfix updates etc.
  • Follow-up & participate in discussions with the principle vendors while troubleshooting major issues in order to conclude constructive and conclusive RCA.
  • End to End Server Hardware Deployment. (Server Rack, Power ON, Cabling, Installation etc)
  • Work on incidents and service requests.
  • Service Improvements & Automation.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation Plan.
  • Willing to work in 24x7 On-call Production Support and Shifts.
  • Good Reporting Skills: Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports on Activities and Updates.
  • Experience in Unix Administrations, System administration skill required at least in the following two - RHEL, AIX., CentOS, OEL, Suse and Debian (Any other flavor with RHEL)
  • Configuration and administration of Logical volume manager.
  • Patch and Package administration.
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting Unix operating system related issues.
  • Scripting ( Shell/Python).
  • Knowledge of OS Java Management.
  • Knowledge of Vulnerability management on Unix OS environment
  • Experience in shell/perl scripts
