Casne Engineering is seeking a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with 3 to 5 years’ experience designing industrial power systems. As part of our Engineering Services department in Carlsbad, CA, you will collaborate with a team of other engineers to provide design and construction support services. This role involves both office-based and on-site work, with a primary focus on large-scale design projects.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and demonstrate a strong desire for career advancement, growth, and potential to take on leadership roles. We are looking for individuals who possess a confident, professional, and positive demeanor and who genuinely enjoy helping customers succeed.

Responsibilities

Design of Industrial and Commercial power, lighting, and auxiliary systems, including:

Medium and Low-Voltage Power Distribution System

Emergency and Standby Power Systems

Interior and Exterior Lighting

Power System Modeling

Load Studies

Short Circuit Analysis

Protective Device Coordination / Arc Flash Calculations / Studies

Response to Equipment Submittals, Construction RFIs, etc.

Facilitation of project closeout documentation

Required (Technical)

BSEE degree with a power-focused field of study and 3+ years industry experience

Experience in the preparation of detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

Experience in the support of construction and commissioning activities

Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and management of PDF documents

Required (Business)

Passed the FE exam

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment

Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadline-driven tasks effectively and efficiently, including a proactive approach to follow-up

Successful completion of background checks (including possible drug testing, depending on the client) for access badging requirements

Ability to travel to customer locations as required to research existing conditions, coordinate with third parties, install and configure equipment, commission final solutions, and support customer needs

Preferences

California State P.E. in Electrical. Other states accepted.

Experience with engineering software including SKM, Easy Power, ETAP, SEL acSELerator, AGI32, etc.
