INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
TALLASSEE, AL

Summary/Objective:

Responsibilities include ensuring products meet established standards and reducing inefficiency. Analyzing operations, designing work flows and production process to reduce losses, improve efficiencies and assist in meeting customer requirements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required.

Certificate in AutoCAD desirable.

Lean Six Sigma Certification desirable.

3 to 5 years of experience

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.

Ability to understand manufacturing process flows and production methods.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-aided design (AutoCAD).

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.

Essential Functions:

Investigate, discuss, and solve complex problems by interaction with manufacturing departments, consultants, customers, and suppliers.

Build a layout and working capacity model that provides a visual of the process flow of the manufacturing floor.

Be instrumental in implementing SAP Capacity Resource Planning.

Collaborates with teams across various disciplines to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for product lines.

Manage projects utilizing engineering and process flow techniques

Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.

Experience working with advanced analytics and machine learning concepts, tools, and languages.

Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.

Utilizes technology (i.e., Tableau) to develop reportable operating metrics.

Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs and increase production flow.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing plant environment with extreme fluctuation in temperature.

Dusty and noisy environment.

Exposure to odors and fumes.
