Job Title: Anesthesia Tech - Operating Room

Location: Dallas Medical Center

Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30a to 3p with call and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Anesthesia Technician coordinates the equipment and supplies for the department. This position also assists in integrating surgical and anesthesia equipment to ensure effective and efficient operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Verify equipment is functioning properly; ensure efficient arrangement of equipment and disposable products to enhance work efficiency of licensed personnel.
  • Coordinate the needs of anesthesia; assist with technical aspects of getting patients ready for general or regional anesthesia; assist with intravenous, intra-arterial and other monitoring catheters. May occasionally assist licensed personnel with non-invasive patient care as directed.
  • Participate in rotation of coordinating personnel, i.e. during Team Leader's absence and/or when a call is received via pager, relays incoming assignment (e.g. room to be prepped) to the available Anesthesia Tech.
  • Participate in new product evaluation at the direction of a team leader/manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
  • At least one year job related experience.
EDUCATION
  • Required: High school education or equivalent
  • Preferred, one year vocational or technical schooling or education /experience relating to anesthesia.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Required: BLS/CPR thru the American Heart Association upon Hire
  • Preferred: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 180 days of hire.
