Job Description

The Research Program Administrator serves as a key administrative contact for assigned programs/centers. The Research Program Administrator will administratively oversee and partner with the program/center leaders and research administration to help the program achieve goals and oversee activities within a large size program and/or multi-institution program grant. Serves as the point of contact with collaborating member institutions in the multi-institutional grants as assigned.

The Program Administrator provides leadership, management, and direction, and is responsible for the operations of multiple programs/units within the designated research center or program. Works with scientific and administrative leadership in development and oversight of strategic plans, budget/financial, staffing, human resources, and general management. Implements and improves operational practices and procedures within the program and helps develop a program plan to guide and plan programmatic growth. Responsible for developing and assembling project plans, teams, work assignments, as well as creating and monitoring various administrative and financial reports. Serve as a liaison and facilitate interactions with various ancillary departments, stakeholders, and research leadership while developing and maintaining documentation related to projects, initiatives, SOPs as needed, and assist in process improvements as well as quality assurance. Works with OSP, IRB, IBC, IACUC, Accounting, and Research administration to help manage and oversee program activities. Ensures high quality and minimum program costs by implementing and maintaining a quality management program and program metrics.

Essential Functions:
  1. Provide administrative oversight of program by directing and managing the activities of the assigned program (s) having responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods, and associates.
  2. Build and maintain relationships to support program planning, development, and new initiatives to ensure viability and growth.
  3. Serve as the liaison and point of contact for all regulatory and administrative areas in support of program/center.
  4. Provide regulatory oversight for all Center/Program activities and provide guidance and mentoring to research associates.
  5. Develop and implement administrative/operational/regulatory systems and controls to streamline and oversee center personnel to support and oversee research activities.
  6. Financial/Budget support to Center/Program Director and support to investigators to ensure appropriate financial management and regulatory compliance as applicable.
  7. Responsible for communication to Program/Center staff relevant information to ensure program/center staff are up to date on key changes and initiatives at Nemours.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years in similar role and demonstration of progressive responsibilities
