Job Title: Local Contract - Radiation Therapist Number of positions: 1Years of experience: One to three years Shift: Day shifts- 40 hours Duration: 13 weeksStart Date: 04/28/2024Hourly pay: $68.79OT: 1.5Weekly Pay: $25.79.63JOB DESCRIPTIONSummaryDepartment: RADIATION ONCOLOGYShift Timings: 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday (4 Days/9 Hours Shift)Per Week: 36 HoursRoles & ResponsibilitiesProviding individualized radiation therapy treatments to patients, in consultation with the oncology team.Explaining the process to patients and answering any questions.Administering radiation therapies as per patient treatment plans.Using medical imaging equipment to ensure treatments are delivered accurately.Assessing patients' reactions to treatments, providing advice on the side effects of treatments, and methods of alleviating these.Monitoring the progress of patients and suggesting amendments to treatment plans, when necessary.Providing ongoing support to patients and their families.Performing quality assurance tests on simulation and treatment machines to ensure they are in working order.Undertaking oncology research in order to improve treatment methods.QUALIFICATIONSBLS and ACLSNational Institutes of Health (NIH)Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.The ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Knowledge of medical terminologyPassionate about patient careRequires a minimum of two years of current Radiation Therapist experience. Graduate from a fully accredited Radiation Therapist programActive unencumbered California Radiation Therapist state license One year of Cerner experience ARRT Certification Requirements•COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.Participates in relevant continuing education programs.Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.ABOUT HEALTHCARE STAFFING PLUSHealthcare Staffing Plus is a US based national per diem, local contract, and locum tenens agency.
