Supervision of both Gift Shop (Shop Within) and Coffee Shop (Code Brew)
Position Purpose:
The supervisor is responsible for the management and success of the Shop Within and Code Brew. Oversee daily operations, supervise staff, provide outstanding customer service, accurate record keeping, monitor finances, maintain inventory, and ensure a clean and attractive sales floor.
What you will Do:
- Manages all departmental functions for The Shop Within and Code Brew.
- Staffing: hire, train, coach, motivate, schedule team and performance evaluations.
- Customer service: ensure customers have a positive experience by providing prompt and friendly service.
- Record keeping; maintain accurate records of sales and inventory, timekeeping, and personnel records. Monitors sales through the cash register; resolves discrepancies, prepares, reconciles, and records cash receipts for deposit, and prepares sales reports.
- Finances: assist with budget creation, monitor expenditures, analyze discrepancies between budget and actual expenses and analyze profitability ratios and implement measure to improve departments finances.
- Inventory: interview vendors, purchase, inspect, code and price merchandise for resale in The Shop Within and product and supplies for Code Brew. Monitor and maintain inventory, coordinate receipt, and return of merchandise and/or equipment; verify invoices and billing, resolve errors and discrepancies; and coordinate shipping. Identify current and future product trends that appeal to customers.
- Sales floor: oversee stock and visual merchandising, set displays, rotate merchandise, maintain organization and cleanliness in the gift shop and coffee shop, develop and implement sales promotion campaigns.
- Assists with marketing promotions, events, and new customers. Maintain Facebook page.
- Minimum two-year degree required, degree in merchandising, business, or marketing preferred.
- Minimum of one year or more in retail management preferred.
- One year or more managing staff required.
