Job Description
This position is responsible for the smooth running of operations within the restaurant. Servers provide table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience. It is a high priority to keep communication very clear and open throughout the Front of House team including management to uphold the standards set out by the leadership team.
- Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and suggest menu items based on knowledge of the menu and wine list.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all menu items, including ingredients and food allergens, and wine list in order to assist guests and answer questions accurately.
- Ensure sequence of service is followed at all times.
- Ensure all service standards are reviewed and executed daily.
- Serve Food & Beverage items, ensuring timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
- Accommodate guests' special requests whenever possible.
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and in order at all times, including tables, chairs, floors, etc
- Maintain tables by clearing finished plates, glassware, silverware, trash, and other items.
- Process payments according to POS and cash handling procedures.
- Reconcile transactions at the end of each shift, cash out, and maintain a balanced bank.
- Ensure all checks are closed out accurately and efficiently.
- Polish and set up glassware, silverware, and service items.
- Stock clean linen and discard used linen.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service laws and regulations.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with all staff.
- Be knowledgeable of property facilities, services, and hours of operation to proactively assist guests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-years' experience as a Server in food service/hospitality; high-end, luxury restaurant
- ServSafe Certification is desirable
- Professional appearance and manner, good character to work in a fast-paced team. Positive, honest, and energetic work ethic.
- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and be able to lift up, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including night, weekends, and holidays
