Job Description
  • Act as overall QA Coordinator on behalf of client for all pipeline projects on North Slope.
  • Review and Approve Pipeline Laying Contractor and Fabrication Contractor's Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Review and Approve Contractor Quality Processes to ensure the plans and processes submitted meets project specifications and state & federal regulatory body requirements.
  • Review, witness and approvesWelding Procedures and Welder & Operator qualifications.
  • Oversee inspection of Line pipe, Pipeline, Welding and NDE conducted at various pipeline installations & facilities.
  • Verify that welds are properly marked for identification and traceable to material of origin.
  • Coordinate with Inspection Coordinator to source competent quality resources from Third Party Inspection Agencies.
  • Verify that weld numbers, pipe numbers are properly identified and logged on inspection reports.
  • Verify that welding is performed according to procedures, specifications, codes, & standards.
  • Maintain daily log of inspection activities.
  • Manage and Monitor Audits and NCRs until final close-out of the findings.
  • Review, Validate and accept Final Quality Data Books received from various Line Pipe, Pipeline and Bend Suppliers.
Requirements

Business Need:
  • Necessary to maintain quality relative to welding integrity.
Key Skills:
  • Trained & experienced in the inspection of pipeline laying and welding.
  • Knowledgeable in quality assurance and Inspection techniques.
  • Effective oral & written skills.
  • Competent in PC skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, & E-mail systems)
Candidate Qualifications:
  • Candidate needs to have 5-10 years of applicable experience in welding inspection.
  • Overseas experience in pipeline facilities construction helpful.
  • Certification in Welding, NDE and Coating will be preferred.
