Ascend has global sales and distribution with five manufacturing facilities in the United States.The Manufacturing Engineer Located in Foley, AL is primarily responsible for providing detailed process and technical guidance to the Operations Team and identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements. The Manufacturing Engineer routinely interacts with Production operators and supervision, Maintenance mechanics and supervision, Quality personnel, Project Engineering and Process Technology.TARGETED OUTCOMESDrive unit performance to operational entitlement with respect to yields, usages, reliability, and quality.Achieve annual operating productivity targets by maintaining a unit performance tracking program.Maintain accurate accounting of all unit production losses and drive actions to correct.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide detailed process guidance to the Production Teams and Site Leadership in the execution of scheduled production.Oversight of operations to identify opportunities for improvement.Process troubleshooting, investigation and resolution of process and product deviations.Development of process changes to accommodate new products.Support of and participation in projects teams for facilities improvements.Maintenance Project Management and/or small Capital Project ManagementOverall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and Equipment Reliability (documentation and improvement plans)Provide technical expertise and training standards for operators.Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a self-directed team.Commitment to plant safety, environmental and industrial hygiene practices.Maintain technical documentation.Develop technical specs.Work with vendors/material suppliers.TEAMReports to: Production ManagerTeam Members: Production TeamREQUIRED EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science Degree Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.3- 5 years manufacturing experience preferred (plastics, extrusion, compounding, automotive, aircraft, etc. highly encouraged to apply).Strong computer skills including spreadsheets.Knowledge and experience with the following is also desired: SPC, Provox DCS systems, PLC functionality, safety and environmental policies and operator training.A basic understanding of PSM, SPC and ISO9001 is also preferred.REQUIRED SKILLSProblem Solving.Time Management/Organizational skills.Strong knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) is essential.FMEA and RCA.Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex problems.Willingness to provide after-hours support.Excellent oral and written communications.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.Ability to perform in a highly dynamic work environment.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and manage projects from beginning to successful completion.At Ascend Performance Materials, we value transparency and fairness in our hiring process.
