DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis Accountant 1 role is an entry-level fiscal position. You will analyze financial transactions and prepare documented financial statements and reports to control and account for funds. This includes analyzing and projecting financial data to help ensure our agency can continue to support our county's most vulnerable children.
Responsibilities also include assisting in the preparation of county and state agency budgets, posting and submitting invoices, assisting with reconciliation and reports for general ledgers, and more Your work will be essential for supporting Children & Youth, Juvenile Probation, and other programs that assure the safety and wellbeing of children in our community. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or
- One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
