Overview:
Responsible for the design, installation, analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance of computer networks. Develops and maintains a network that provides maximum and efficient performance and reliability for users. Performs tasks such as installation and configuration, testing and maintenance on new server hardware and software infrastructures; identification, diagnosis and resolution of network problems; and maintenance of required certification from key vendors. Responsible for keeping the network secure from a variety of threats and the recommendation and scheduling of network repairs.

Support the Global Agile Integrated Transport (GAIT) Network Support Center (NSC) contract providing Engineering and Operations Support Services. ?Perform engineering activities as they pertain to space based equipment. ?These include, but are not limited to: development of SATCOM system specifications, engineering plans and test plans; development of SATCOM based architectures and frameworks (i.e. operational views, structural views); development of test plans and procedures; provide support to technology working groups and integrated product teams; develop technology development plans; provide support in assessment of technology maturity; develop technology transition plans.
This position will support the development and refinement of the network/system design by effectively leveraging emulation test bed capability and other lab assets for the refinement and continual improvement of the GAIT including network architecture development, outlining evaluation criteria, and developing experiments and test plans. Must have strong knowledge of networking technologies and the analytical background to cleanly define it, analyze it, and relate results back to the system design/characteristics.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Armys network architecture and have the skills to understand and leverage emerging technologies. This knowledge includes all variations of the WIN-T network configuration and implementation Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTPs) associated with each. Must also understand tactical satellite (TACSAT) equipment and integration into the overall network. must have an understanding of SATCOM and network technical capabilities and operations that include an knowledge of WIN-T Increment 1 and Increment 2 capabilities to assist in planning and implementation of modifications including retrofits, upgrades, extended service programs, system enhancement programs, product improvement programs, technology insertions, and system improvement programs.
Understand fundamental SATCOM principles and techniques.
Understanding of Internet Protocol networking principles and concepts.
Understanding of various IP transmission data (TCP, UDP, etc)
Working knowledge of military satellite systems.
Working knowledge of commercial SATCOM systems.
Working knowledge and experience with Frequency Division Multiple Access, Multi-Frequency Time Division Multiple
Access and Internet Protocol Modems (specifically I-Direct and Linkway).

Qualifications:
Prior Army (preferred)/military SATCOM and/or tactical network experience highly desirable
Bachelors Degree (engineering preferred) or 5 years equivalent experience
5+ years Network Administration/Engineering experience
Voice over IP and Cisco Call Manager equipment experience - preferred
Cisco and Juniper router experience - preferred.
Riverbed or other network optimization/management equipment experience - preferred.
Active Secret Clearance - required
