This is a Stanford Health Care - University Healthcare Alliance job.

A Brief Overview Supervises the clinical staff, which may include clinical nurses, medical assistants and other clinical support staff, to provide for the health care needs of clinic patients and their families. Responsible for the day to day clinical operations of the departments. Provides for the health care needs of clinical patients and their families. Responsible for personnel management issues such as staff competency, training and adherence to UHA nursing standards. Acts as coach, mentor and problem solver for staff and physicians in the departments. Reviews, counsels and motivates staff. Works collaboratively with medical staff on patient care issues and department direction.

What you will do

Day-to-Day Operations Supervision of clinical staff on a day to day basis. Develops daily staffing assignments for all clinical staff to ensure appropriate patient care and meet provider expectations. Approves work schedules and PTO requests. Act as the resource for all clinical personnel in order to facilitate appropriate patient care on a daily basis (daily clinical operations). Monitors ADP timekeeping system for accuracy and sign off of timecards in preparation for pay day. Foster an environment that is patient care oriented and conducive to positive outcomes and consistently demonstrate good customer service skills. Personnel Management Ensure that staff is in compliance with their scope of practice. Works with staff on improving patient care, patient and staff safety and nursing education at University HealthCare Alliance. Maintains good attendance. Conducts annual employee reviews and new employee introductory evaluations for all clinical staff in conjunction with Practice Manager. Participates in interviewing and hiring new clinical personnel and responsible for clinical orientation in conjunction with Practice Manager. Participate in organizing and presenting in-service programs that promote staff learning and aid staff in doing a better job. Coaches, mentors and motivates staff members to work as efficiently as possible and to support one another as a team. Collaborates with physicians to meet the goals of the department. Assures department(s) is operating safely; that blood borne pathogen standards, hazmat standards, and general safety standards are being followed; is proactive in providing staff with proper protective equipment, safety syringes and ergonomic equipment to ensure compliance with UHA and OSHA standards. Coordination & Communication Coordinate staff meetings to promote good communication with staff. Regularly communicates with staff on department issues, protocols, changes in procedures, Foundation news, etc. Communicates, interprets, supports and enforces UHA policies. Institutes counseling to all clinical staff as necessary and implements the corrective action with the input of the Clinical Manager in accordance with all UHA guidelines. Works collegially with PSR Supervisor and Clinical Supervisors in other departments. Acts as a role model for all staff and promotes excellent customer service. Maintain a profile that is professional and positive. All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned. Adheres to safety, P4P's (if applicable), HIPAA and compliance policies. Education Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited R.N. program with current California license Experience Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years previous progressive experience in clinical nursing, preferably in an ambulatory setting Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

High level of verbal and written communication skills with a strong capacity for detail, maintaining clear/effective contact with physicians, employees, administration and corporate personnel. Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines. Advanced analytical ability and problem solving skills necessary in order to establish new accounting systems and procedures, analyze the impact of various financial transactions and make sound recommendations for necessary improvements. Excellent understanding of accounting / finance principles and the capacity to apply these to ensure sound fiscal management. Ability to mentor and educate staff expanding their knowledge and application of these principles. Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to counsel and deal with physicians, employees and administrative staff in sometimes sensitive situations and provide effective leadership to subordinates. Provide consistent and effective communication to same. Management skills necessary to attract and maintain a highly effective and motivated staff. Demonstrates ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct the activities of clinical personnel and projects. Ability to influence and manage change. Effective oral and written communication skills. Licenses and Certifications

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $69.68 - $92.33 per hour
