Responsibilities

Manage patients efficiently with attention to length of stay and care transitions. Champion inpatient initiatives to improve overall quality, safety, and patient experience. Perform academic bedside teaching rounds with strong interest in medical resident supervision and evaluation. Perform rounds on the medical wards coordinating patient care. Perform patient history and physical examination on admission to the hospital. Consultatively manage the care of patients in a variety of units. Provide high detailed and quality documentation in the medical record with attention to completion of encounters. Qualifications

Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), OR (2) Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), OR (3) Other residences (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States). Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the Unites States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation. All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist Lift up to 20 lbs Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance Push/pull with 30 lbs of force All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
