Must meet all FMCSA DOT requirements.

- Speak and read English satisfactorily to:
- Converse with general public
- Understand traffic signs and signals
- Respond to official questions
- Make legible entries on reports and records
- Drive the vehicle safely
- Be physically qualified to perform all duties of a driver
- Have only one valid commercial motor vehicle operator's license by one State or jurisdiction
- Pass a driver's road test or equivalent
- Is not disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under FMCSA regulation 40 CFR 391.15
Subject to change in regard to Compliance changes from either FMCSA or Risk Management Department
- Applicant must have a valid license for the vehicle type and load hauled
- Class A, Class B, Straight Trucks, Hazmat, or Yard Driver
- No chargeable accidents, violations, or suspensions in the past year, 4 in the past 3 years, 5 or more suspensions in a lifetime is an automatic disqualification - can be reviewed by Risk Management Department
- Speeding over 15mph
- Reckless driving
- Handheld device violation
- No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 12 months or 2 in the last 3 years
- No positive drug tests in the past 12 months or 2 in the last 5 years
- Must be cleared by FMCSA Clearinghouse
- SAP program must be completed in Full (follow up test too)
- No more than 4 non-serious moving violations in the past 3 years - can be reviewed by Risk Management Department
- Speeding less than 10mph
- Traffic violations (lights, lane changes, etc)
- Must have a current DOT medical card (short form) and meet the physical demands set forth in the written Job Description upon hire.
- Must have Hazmat endorsement or be able to obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 30/60/90 days of hire; if applicable
- Completed employment application with detailed information about past employers and verifiable work history with dates of employment for the last 10 years with no gaps.
- Obtain a PSP, CDLIS, and MVR to compare to application to see if there are any discrepancies. May have to run multiple MVR's for each State CDL has been held in.
- Verify Medical Card copy obtain matches that on current MVR
- Background checks must be performed with satisfactory records
- No Felony convictions in the past year pertaining to field of work
- No drug/alcohol Felony convictions in the past year
- 3 in 5 years
- 4 in 7 years
- No weapons or assault charges in the past year
- 2 in 3 years
- 3 in 7 years
- No Criminal convictions related to theft or violence within the last year
- convictions in the last 3 years are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Excessive incidents (more than 5 in 5 years) will not be approved.
- Misdemeanors within the last 7 years will be on a case-by-case basis
- No drug/alcohol Felony convictions in the past year
- All rehires need to meet FMSCA requirements upon rehire, no matter the length of termination

- Drug and Alcohol violations are not eligible for 5 years
- Orientation is not required if an employee returns within 30 days from date of termination
- Drivers are subject to retraining if deemed part of rehire eligibility.
- PTO accrual may resume on previous accrual schedule if an employee returns to Magnum in less than 12 months from termination; if employee returns after 12 months from termination, then the accrual schedule will be reinstated using a seniority date accrual, the waiting period will apply. Rehire Benefit provisions are that if you return within 30 days, you are eligible for benefits first of the month following date of rehire. If it's longer than 30 days, you must satisfy the new hire waiting period (1st of the month following 30 days)
