We are looking for someone with prior authorization or medical billing experience. This is not a training position. Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Job Description:

Verify patient insurance benefits with insurance companies and complete pre-authorizations and/or obtain referrals for all surgeries, procedures, and imaging studies. This includes updating information received from patients, employers, and physician offices in the computer system to ensure correct billing information is obtained prior to the time of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain insurance eligibility and benefits information and obtain required authorizations for patients.
  • Obtain referrals from outside offices when required.
  • Provides superior customer service to patients, families, general public, and co-workers.
  • Review all insurance eligibility responses and communicate with the patient and their physician as needed regarding these responses or to obtain correct information.
  • Works with clinical staff to ensure authorizations cover services needed.
  • Estimate cost of service and the patients' responsibility, analyze and document the patients' account.
  • Is a knowledgeable resource to patients/customers, striving to build patient/customer loyalty and confidence.
  • Assist with discussing and setting up payment plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to multitask, detailed, dependable, great with computers, professional, and team player.

Must be able to pass criminal background checks, drug screen and current reference checks. Must be at least 18 to apply.

As of Oct. 18, 2021, Oregon is requiring all healthcare employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, with limited exceptions. Vaccinations are required as this is an essential part of the role.
