We are seeking a medical assistant with great customer service skills and a passion for patient care to join our team as a Medical Assistant. This role will require the employee to provide great care to patients, manage some administrative tasks, and provide great medical duties. Job duties include:Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism while assisting customers in all inquiries above and beyond expected level of serviceSchedule patients electronically, telephonically, and/or in person while triaging the patient as directed by the physicianPerform front office duties by welcoming patients to the clinic, obtaining check-in information and ensuring appropriate information has been obtained and entered into the EMR prior to the patient visitCarry out the orders of the physician concerning patient care in a safe, competent and friendly manner. These duties include but are not limited to vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, medication dispensing (under physician's order/approval), POC testing, EKGs, etc.Coordinate clinical follow up(s) such as scheduling appointments, labs, referrals, diagnostic careProcess transactions and/or membership fees requiredOrder and facilitate arrival of medical supplies, office supplies, and medications as directed by the physicianWork with computers, web-browser technology, digital care platforms and EMR systemsFoster a team-oriented and collaborative work environmentEducate prospective and current patients on the model of direct primary care as outlined by Freedom HealthworksProvides excellent and effective communication with patients, physician and other key team members in a professional and timely mannerMaintain patient engagement while providing outstanding careKey RequirementsActive credentials/licensureAbility to maintain annual certifications in CPR and licensing as well as clinical skills as requiredUnderstand medical terminologyAbility to occasionally lift 10-20 poundsSufficient vision acuity for routine computer useAbility to walk, sit, or stand at moderate levelsStrong communication skills: Written, verbal, and listeningDemonstrated ability to quickly learn new processes and proceduresHigh organizational skills, great interpersonal skills and ability to work as a key team memberAbility and willingness, if necessary, to be present during all hours of scheduled appointments, take calls from and help patients outside of scheduled appointment times, and be present for infrequent urgent appointments outside of regular appointment times.
