Job Requirements:
  • Four-year accounting degree or extensive accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with computerized accounting system is required.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Confidentiality beyond reproach.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
Performs diversified duties in maintaining accounting records. Must be familiar with full cycle of accounting transactions. Analyzes data and compiles reports as required by management or government agencies. Assists in developing, evaluating or documenting policies and procedures by performing the duties listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs accounting and bookkeeping duties such as making deposits, reconciling subsidiary ledgers such as accounts payable or accounts receivable to general ledger, maintaining transaction support documentation, and entering transactions.
  • Reconciles cash accounts to bank statements, as required.
  • Compiles reports requiring significant analysis or technical expertise from individual reports of others as required by management or government agencies.
  • Assists in the development, analysis, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for all incoming and outgoing correspondence related to functional area and properly re-routing incomplete incoming correspondence.
  • Responsible for testing accounting software system upgrades for functional area(s) supervised.
  • Responsible for ensuring transactions are in compliance with laws (e.g. sales tax laws) and/or contracts (e.g. purchasing or production contracts).
  • May be responsible for supervising a transactional area within accounting such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, or fixed assets.
  • Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Murphy Family Ventures LLC subscribes.
  • Reports all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.

  • Reads and understands the company's emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
  • Performs other duties as defined by manager.


ADA Requirements:

Stoop, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 pounds while moving files

Must be able to read and write

Utilize desk top computer to perform job functions
