Team / division overview

The COO Division is a key enabler for DWS and is integral to the future success of the company by delivering world-class services across a set of key functions. It covers essential Technology and Operations capabilities, including our data programs and digital transformation. The COO aims to deliver a platform which is efficient, scalable, resilient and agile.

Within the COO Division Data Management is responsible for designing and driving the execution of the data strategy at Group and Divisional/functional level as well as coordinating adherence to Data related processes and policies and any applicable local regulations.

Role Details

As a Data Governance Analyst you will:
  • Identify and collaborate with data owners and stewards across different departments to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Support a network of data owners and stewards with appropriate data governance
  • Ensure DWS knows what and where the data it uses resides through the agreed DWS Data Governance tools
  • Support the evaluation, selection and implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support data governance initiatives
  • Regularly assess and refine data governance processes and policies in line with the industry best practice to promote continuous improvement
  • Designing effective Data Management policies and processes which support the data strategy whilst enabling risk reduction and compliance with Data related regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring DWS's Data Management frameworks are operational within the business divisions and/or infrastructure functions
  • Ensuring adequacy of data sharing, access, retention and disposal for area of accountability, in accordance with defined processes.
We are looking for
  • Experience in data governance and data management. ideally in a financial services environment
  • Understanding of data governance concepts, principles and best practices e.g., DCAM, DAMA
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience of managing data and processes in an enterprise environment with an understanding of database and schema design
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a strategic level
  • Excellent communication, both in listening and conveying messages to a wide range of stakeholder groups
  • Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop creative and structured solutions
