**Description**
The Buyer Admin is responsible to assist the Buyer(s) to execute the strategy for categories assigned and assist in optimizing the results for the entire area. The Buyers Admin is a role that supports the buyer while developing a strong foundation of merchant skills and expands on the organizational process.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Vendor Relationships and Vendor Management (50%)**
* Build relationships with vendors by participating in vendor appointment in office or Dallas Mart. Observe buyer in select market appointments to understand buyers vision and to meet key vendor partners.
* Assist in vendor management by contacting vendors weekly to follow up on routing and shipping of POs.
* Independently builds vendor relationships. Established positive relationships to effectively influence vendors. This includes interaction with vendors to problem solve and follow up.
* Review and analyze business reports to understand trends, sell-through and ensure targets are being met.
* Coordinate with other members of the merchant/planning and allocation team to promote teamwork.
* Provide operational support to buyers. Support buyer to prepare for business meetings; style outs, vendor analysis, barnyard and big rock preparation.
* Assist in collection samples for email marketing.
* Maintains planned receipt flow by tracking when orders are being received. Partners with buyer to make flow issue changes when needed. Ensures adherence to scheduled shipping windows and alerts buyer when needed to negotiate late shipping discounts where applicable.
* Tracks purchase orders and resolves delivery issues accordingly.
**Buyer Support (50%)**
* Obtain and confirm pricing comparison.
* Prepares Import PO Worksheet as well as Domestic and POE PO Reservation with buyer guidance.
* Partner with buyer coordinator, allocator and planner to maximize profitability and sales
* Gain working knowledge of products within the Buyer accountability. Attend select market appointments to observe how buyer negotiates varied products that meets customers need while providing value.
* Build and support vendor relationships.
* Analyze item/category performance, trend opportunities and make recommendations to Buyer
* Provide basic analysis of key business data, as directed by the buyer. This includes weekly selling analysis, stock performance and on order review.
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
* 1-3 years of experience in other merchandising roles
* High School Diploma/AA Degree
**DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
* Solid understanding of retail math
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated time management; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
* Ability to build strong business partnerships both internally and externally and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility as business strategies change
* Critical thinking, decision making and analytical skills
* Proficiency in Word and Excel required, and Google preferred
