Position Overview:
As the Head/VP of Finance at Afore Capital, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the venture capital firm. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role is perfect for someone passionate about data, finance, and metrics, with a drive to contribute to the growth and success of early-stage companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial aspects of Afore Capital, including budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting.
- Work closely with outsourced accounting and tax firms, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, SOIs, capital calls, audits and tax filings.
- Oversee the financial health of the firm, including tracking cash flow, managing expenses, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Develop and maintain financial models to analyze investments and track the performance of portfolio companies.
- Collaborate with investment teams to provide financial insights and support investment decision-making.
- Prepare and publish financial statements, ensuring transparency and accuracy for investors and stakeholders.
- Manage vendors, including accounting and tax firms, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Scale financial operations as the firm grows, adapting processes and systems to meet evolving needs.
- Handle day-to-day financial inquiries and tasks, such as monitoring bank accounts, paying bills, and managing rent.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2-3 years in venture capital or private equity.
- Experience managing GP entities
- Experience managing relationships with accounting and tax firms.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
