Meets required inventory and working orders.Oversees surgical technician assignments as a lead and provides direction and guidance as needed.Provides performance documentation to supervisor/manager as requested.Assumes department leadership in absence of supervisor as needed.Reviews the surgical schedule and service line shift report daily to ensure resources are available for surgical procedures.Adheres to and advocates accepted practices and protocols of OR job performance standards and CMS/JACHO regulations.Identifies and acts on process improvement opportunities.Seeks ways to eliminate errors, reduce turnaround time, maintains work-flow and to improve customer service.Performs as trouble-shooter, resolving concerns as they occur.Performs and oversees precepting.Other duties as assigned.Follows Hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and pletes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements.Education:If hired prior to August 1, 2015 completion of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES or completion of military surgical technology program required. Or Licensed Practical Nurse will meet the requirements.If hired August 1, 2015 or later, Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES required. Completion of military surgical technology program will meet the requirements of an accreditedSurgical Technology Program. Certification as a Surgical Technologist waives the educational requirement for hire.
