Qualifications EDUCATION EDUCATION (number of years and type required to perform the position duties): Associates Degree and/or education required to obtain RDMS certification. Prior experience specifically in perinatal imaging preferred. EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE (number of years and type required to meet an acceptable level of performance): Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry level standards of routine sonographer Prefer one (1) years' practical experience in Ultrasound or related field. Requires ARDMS registration in OB /GYN by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Knowledge of and experience with computerized documentation systems preferred. LICENSURE LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: RDMS (OB) required within six months of hire. Nuchal Translucency required within six months of hire. SPECIAL SKILLS SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent theoretical knowledge of anatomy, pathology and demonstrated proficiency in the use of ultrasound equipment. Must be proficient and accurate in obtaining sonographic images and in discriminating images selected for interpretation. Must possess outstanding communication and organizational skills. Required to interact with patients and families to provide information about the content of the sonogram, as it is being conducted. Must possess excellent technical skills in the guidance of invasive procedures including CVS, PUBs, Amniocentesis, etc). Must be able to work accurately, independently and efficiently in order to complete a minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) scans per day. PHYSICAL DEMAND SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND: Travel as needed to other MFM locations per staffing needs. Additional Information Will train Sonographers to become experienced in Perinatal Sonography Scan 100 cases/day Each Perinatal Sonographer does 7-8 scan/day. Work Schedule DAYS Work Days 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Additional Skills/Special Requirements Minimum 1 Year of experience preferred at the setting of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. RDMS certified with OB/GYN.
