SMG Administrative Office Manager

Responsible for supervising and coordinating administrative support staffing and functions for the SMG Medical Group with the exception on Walk-In Clinic, Mancos Clinic and School Based Health Clinic. This includes oversight of patient scheduling, registration, check-out, point of service collections and other administrative functions necessary to support the daily administrative clinic operations. Participates in development of and is accountable for operating the assigned department(s) within the approved budget. Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Operations completes monthly productivity, operations expenses, and patient appointment reports. Collaborates with other Clinic Managers to support physicians and providers to provide exceptional care for patients. From time to time may oversee all medical group staff and operations in the absence of the Director of Clinical Operations.
Regulatory/Educational Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Experience in managing outpatient or provider based Rural Health Clinics is preferred.
- 3 years in a supervisory or lead position.
- Knowledge of dynamics of physician practices of effectively supervising subordinates in a dynamic healthcare organization.
- Knowledge of computers, practice management systems, electronic medical records, programs and applications.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional language preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Read and complete forms, and presents in a confident, professional manner.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational goals.
- Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, making assignments, and achieving goals and objectives.
- Skill in communicating effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
