POSITION PURPOSE

The HVAC Estimator II is responsible for project take-offs, sizing, estimating, and quoting all HVAC projects. You will be reviewing construction documents and specs and using vendor software tools, as well as utilizing your experience and skills to support less experienced Estimators. This includes understanding the customer’s requirements, working with the Sales Team, Project Managers and then estimating the time it will take to complete the project, as well as the cost of materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following (include at least 5 items):

Gathers current plans, specifications, and addenda to assigned projects. Reviews specifications to ensure compliance with acceptable manufacturers and reports non-compliance to salesmen. Completes detailed takeoffs including quantity by size, style, and tag number for heating, ventilating and air conditioning products from blueprints and specifications. Prepares cost estimates and proposals for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and products, utilizing current pricing programs and/or pricing catalogs. Assists sales engineer with equipment selections and pricing. Communicates with manufacturers for specification compliance and pricing. Act as a mentor by providing support and guidance to subordinate Estimators Performs detailed project cost management. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent 3-5 years of prior experience estimating HVAC Ability to complete, thorough and detailed work with accuracy and consistency. Knowledgeable in basic heat and mass transfer concepts, air distribution, and associated costs Experience in software programs such as Bluebeam and CRM. Ability to multi-task, maintain a high attention to detail, problem solve, and maintain a positive attitude. Strong organizational skills with an ability to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication. Expertise in basic math and algebra. Knowledge of Air Distribution products and systems Ability to read and comprehend mechanical blueprints and specifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
