FloraLife®, a division of Smithers-Oasis, has an immediate opening for a Plant Analyst at our facility in Walterboro, South Carolina FloraLife® is a world leader in the post-harvest care and handling of flowers and provides product and technical services to customers on a global basis. The Plant Analyst will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects of plant operations, particularly focusing on inventory management and process improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong understanding of ERP systems, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Some responsibilities of the Plant Analyst include (but are not limited to):
- Conducts thorough incoming verification procedures, including assessment for damage, quantity, and documentation, of purchased materials and supplies.
- Cross-references purchase order details with received documents to ensure accurate receipt of goods.
- Affixes appropriate tags or documentation to materials for clear identification.
- Ensures timely processing of paperwork required for receipt, acceptance, and delivery.
- Records receiving information accurately in the E1 system against corresponding purchase orders.
- Executes daily cycle counting procedures for raw material SKUs and compiles all cycle count data into a daily sheet to monitor accuracy and report findings.
- Investigates inventory discrepancies and presents findings in weekly meetings with FloraLife® departments to facilitate process improvement of production jobs.
- Makes necessary adjustments to physical inventory based on cycle count findings and maintains meticulous records of these adjustments for easy reference upon request.
- Acts as a backup to manage paperwork for production jobs, including material issuance, staging, and job closure.
- Generates monthly reports on cycle counting activities and inventory adjustments.
- Responsible for participating in Kaizen events, initiating cost savings ideas, implementing continuous improvement activities regarding inventory reductions and improvements.
- Communicates clearly to the management team on a regular basis the inventory counting results, material variances, and the analysis/findings from any issues.
- Two or three years of prior experience working with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices /is preferred.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
- Base work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Hours may need to be flexible as needed.
