Location: Dobbs Ferry, NY
Position Type: Full-Time/Perm

Position Overview:
Conduct substance use assessments on youth clients ages 13-20.
Formulate treatment recommendations and plans.
Provide Group Therapy and Individual Sessions as needed.
Collaborate with Clinical Treatment Teams coordinating service provision.

Position Qualifications:
HS Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) required.
Minimum Two (2) years' experience as a professional working with families and child/adolescent population.

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
Adhere to all Agency and departmental safety procedures including reporting any unsafe practices, equipment and environment, and takes an active role in correcting the unsafe practice, equipment or environment through proper notification.
Conducts initial assessments of newly arrived clients or clients who are referred for services; uses information obtained from interviews, tests, case records, and reference materials to identify actual or potential substance use disorders.
Develops and implements individual treatment plans, including type, frequency, and duration of services.
Interacts with clients to assist them in gaining insight, defining goals, and planning action to successfully address disorders.
Conducts chemical dependency program, including educational programming and treatment programs.
Counsels clients, individually and in group sessions, to assist them in overcoming substance use disorders and modifying behavior.
Utilizes the DBT-S model in therapy groups
Completes and maintains accurate progress notes, case records and reports regarding clients' progress, services provided, and other required information. Provides information for billing purposes
Participates in case conferences and staff meetings with treatment team members to ensure coordination of services.
Evaluates the effectiveness of counseling or treatment and modifies diagnoses and treatment plans as necessary.
Plans and implements follow up and aftercare programs for clients to be discharged from treatment programs.
Provide training to Staff, Parents, and Guardians.
Represent Residential Department at outside meetings as needed.
Collaborate with providers.
