The Manufacturing Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the manufacturing facility. This role involves routine cleaning tasks, managing waste, and ensuring that all areas comply with safety and sanitation standards. The Manufacturing Custodian plays a key role in supporting the operational efficiency and safety of the production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of manufacturing floors, equipment, and common areas.
- Sanitation: Ensure that all areas, including production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and offices, meet sanitation and hygiene standards.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of waste materials according to company procedures and environmental regulations. Ensure proper segregation and recycling of materials where applicable.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any hazards or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean custodial equipment and supplies. Notify the supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or needs for repair.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage cleaning supplies inventory. Reorder supplies as needed and ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address cleanliness or maintenance issues proactively.
- Support Operations: Assist with special cleaning projects or tasks as required to support manufacturing operations, including setup for new equipment or cleaning after major production runs.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Skills:
- Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to cleaning and maintenance.
- Environment: Manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
