CVP is seeking a Solution Architect who will work to design and support development of a large enterprise data & analytics platform. The Solution Architect will also be responsible for making design recommendations and choices, coordinating and overseeing standards around storage, computer, and access control methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize data and software solutions to address customer needs.
  • Design architectural solutions with an emphasis on data-driven solutions in an AWS-based environment.
  • Recommend approaches and best practices for migrating legacy relational database systems into a modern data lakehouse architecture.
  • Evaluate and propose platforms and tools to be used in project development.
  • Evaluate existing data and software solutions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to help design solutions that align with or extend the existing architecture.
  • Contribute to architecture and data governance activities across the enterprise.
  • Facilitate technical delivery with other development teams, by documenting, fostering, and maintaining best engineering practices.
  • Present technical briefings to executive leadership and engineering governing bodies.
  • Work closely with government clients including engineering and data architects.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 5+ years of experience in building data-driven solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud native applications on AWS.
  • Excellent knowledge of data engineering best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of open-source data and table formats, including Apache Hudi, Apache Iceberg, and Delta Lake.
  • Excellent knowledge of building data pipelines using AWS Services.
  • Familiarity with data science tools and languages such as Python, SAS, R to support various solutions within the organization.
  • Familiarity with access control techniques including IAM and Apache Ranger.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) to a wide range of technical acumen, including the CIO, Branch Chiefs, and staff.
  • Understanding of software and data quality assurance principles.
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail.
  • Proficient in SQL, ETL tools and platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Desired Qualifications
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
  • Experience providing strategic technical consulting to senior federal customers.
  • Previous experience with data lakehouse platforms including Databricks and query engines such as Trino.
