District Attorney Assistant Midland County $38,263.48 Annually Midland, TX Full-Time Job Number: 2025-00555 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs duties assigned by the District Attorney, Division Leaders and Chief Administrative Assistant. Import of cases through Extract software from the jail. Look up JP Paperwork and enter number and bond information into Tech Share. Managing the W drive by verifying that the report, car tapes, videos, audio tapes, pictures, 911 call log etc. are transferred to us in a useable format. Once verified, the DME will be attached to the correct case. Monitors all cases returned by the District Attorney that are waiting on DME/reports and resubmitting back to the District Attorney when requested items are received. Scanning of all documents and attaching to the correct case file in Tech Share. Scanning of all documents submitted and making sure they are categorized correctly. Adding notes and comments as appropriate to all scanned documents. Scanning of old files that get pulled from storage. Assists with the running of criminal histories to be attached to incoming cases. Maintains files of Pen Packets on all open and closed cases. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to organization/project policies, regulations and procedures. Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts and problems, identified or potential. Respects confidentiality in discussing visitors, staff, and organizational matters. Maintains confidentiality of organization, fiscal and personnel related information. Performs routine office tasks necessary for the operation and presentation of a professional office as observed by the supervisor. As needed, assists with clerical tasks to include typing, filing, proofreading, maintenance of service logs, and data entry. Handles incoming calls from the public, other offices and law enforcement agencies. Exhibits genuine concern for visitors and staff, and always conducts oneself appropriately and professionally. Reports to work regularly and on time. Travel to County Barn at least once a week or as needed. Trip will be accompanied by a District Attorney Investigator. While at the County Barn, files needed will be pulled and files that have been returned will be re-filed and paperwork refiled. Will travel to the jail on Tuesday or Thursdays for video arraignments if needed. Back up to the Hot Check office Taking payments Assisting merchants, county offices, law enforcement agencies and check writers on the phone and in person Making notes in Bounceback when check writers call in Placing hold on warrant when necessary Set up/Release Omni Base Totals daily receipts and reconciles with computer register. Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, Skills and/or Ability Knowledge of Legal terminology and practices; computers; the criminal justice system; standard office policies and procedures and personnel practices and procedures. Skill/Ability to Read, analyze, and interpret data and office policies; effectively manage people; prioritize tasks to be completed; perform basic legal research, such as finding case law; read and understand basic legal procedures; draft legal correspondence; perform basic mathematical functions; operate office equipment, such as copy machine and facsimile machine; communicate effectively, both in person and over the phone; and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
