Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support Customs and Border Protection's Unmanned Aircraft System (CBP UAS) Program Office. You will implement and maintain security controls in accordance with all applicable laws, standards, guidance, and best practices required for a valid Authorization to Operate (ATO) as assigned by the CBP Authorizing Official (AO). You will work in close coordination with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure the security requirements are complied with, security controls are implemented and maintained, and security incidents are reported to maintain the ATO. The position can be 100% remote with required travel to various Customs and Border Protection sites, as needed.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) you will primarily be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of security controls in accordance with all applicable laws, standards, guidance, and best practices required for a valid Authorization to Operate (ATO) as assigned by the CBP Authorizing Official (AO). You will work in close coordination with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure the security requirements are complied with, security controls are implemented and maintained, security incidents are reported to maintain the ATO. Specific UAS components of interest include the unmanned aircraft and on-board communication hardware, airborne sensors, Ground Control Stations (GCSs), and associated Mission System Operator (MSO) stations. Additionally, cognizance of data communications networks between the UAS and DHS/CBP operations centers may be required.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

You will assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities. Prepare, review, and update authorization packages. Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media. Notify ISSM when changes occur that might affect the authorization determination of the system(s). Conduct periodic reviews of systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package. Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change. Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly. Ensure all information security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals. Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies). Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties. Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, to include provide security coordination and review of all system assessment plans. Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of the countermeasures for them. Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems. Conduct security impact analysis activities and provide to the ISSM on all configuration management changes to the authorization boundaries. Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity or related experience, to include performance in roles such as a Systems/Network Administrator or ISSO. Experience briefing the results of technical studies to government personnel, to include senior level government leadership. Experience and interest in coordinating, building, and working with multidisciplinary teams including MTSI other-site SMEs, outside partners, academia, contractors, and USG organizations. Certification Requirements:

Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager II within 6 months of the date of hire. Clearance Requirements:

Ability to pass CBP Background Investigation U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Travel Requirements :
