DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:The Cancer Center Protocol Office is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Database Coordinator. The Cancer Center Protocol Office is a centralized clinical research office that supports clinical researchers in all disciplines within the Cancer Center. Our office promotes and facilitates clinical research by providing comprehensive services to physicians conducting clinical trials while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Database Coordinator will perform tasks related to the development, data input and maintenance of specialized databases of patient-specific data, demographics, molecular data, treatment information and outcomes. The Database Coordinator works under general supervision of the Principal Investigators and reports to the Project Manager.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Working with the databases, the incumbent will:Obtain and abstract complex clinical information from multiple sources (medical records, research records, etc.) for participants.Complete data entry (e.g. patient demographics and risk factors, tumor characteristics, pathology results, imaging reports and other data points) from hospital systems and the Electronic Health Record as well as integrate with Tumor Metrics Data from TIMC.Perform standard data management quality control steps.Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements as required for individual study protocols.Learn software as needed for data management.Assist in manuscript writing and submission by preparing materials and drafts.SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.. Ability to collect and analyze data to assist in decision making.Must be able to think creatively, often finding multiple solutions to a single problem.Strong PC skills required, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Powerpoint and Visio preferred, along with a willingness to learn new softwareAbility to manage competing priorities while meeting project goals.Ability to be flexible, and adaptable in day-to-day activities.Must be able to understand instructions and complete tasks both independently and as part of a team.
