Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming communications from customers, drivers and internal personnel.
  • Demonstrate excellent active listening skills
  • Maintain professional demeanor
  • Take orders for equipment or services.
  • Communicate changes, updates and delays with drivers and customers in real-time.
  • Records dispatches using automated technology.
  • Recommend equipment and/or product to fill the job and coordinate same.
  • Ensures drivers operate within safe hours-of-service
  • Maintain work schedules for drivers
  • Dispatches loads to appropriate drivers, lead drivers, and/or appropriate areas.
  • Relays equipment issues to equipment maintenance department as they arise.
  • Monitors weather conditions in service areas and adjusts dispatch to maintain safety of employees.
  • Utilizes computer automation to look up lease numbers, tank numbers, leases by name, operator number and ticket number.
  • Coordinate transportation of the equipment to and from vendors and jobs.
  • Input computer data
  • Receive and process requests from all service locations and staging of equipment
  • Complete work assignments to the highest quality level
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Literate
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Perform critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to multitask such as talking on phone while typing data in the computer or searching customer information
  • Basic math and computing skills
  • Good computer skills and ability to utilize multi-line telephone system, copiers, scanners and other general office equipment
  • Ability to perform light lifting, stay in an office environment and have sedentary, low physical activity level for prolonged periods of time
Required Experience:
  • 1-2 year(s) prior dispatching experience
  • Previous oilfield experience a plus

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
  • This position requires the ability to speak, read and write in English. As well as read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and the ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of personal computers and the ability to learn new applications.

  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work
  • Must have reliable transportation
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in an office environment with minimal physical activity. Some light lifting may be required.
Work Environment
  • Office work environment with controlled heat and air to maintain quality work environment.
