currently adding a

Cost Control Engineer

to our amazing team.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, analyzing, and controlling project costs to ensure optimal financial performance. You will collaborate with various teams to implement cost-effective strategies, track expenses, and contribute to the successful completion of industrial construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a high level of computer literacy.

Responsibilities:

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop accurate project budgets. Assist in the creation of financial forecasts and projections for ongoing and upcoming industrial construction projects.

Cost Analysis:

Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify variances between planned and actual project expenditures. Evaluate cost trends and provide insights to support informed decision-making.

Expense Tracking:

Monitor project expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose strategies to mitigate financial risks.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare regular financial reports summarizing project costs, budget status, and financial performance.

Change Order Management:

Evaluate and process change orders, assessing their impact on project costs.

Vendor and Contract Management:

Work closely with procurement and contract management teams to ensure vendor compliance with agreed-upon pricing. Analyze contractor and supplier invoices, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

Risk Assessment:

Identify potential financial risks and work with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.

Continuous Improvement:

Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of cost control procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering or construction management preferred.

2+ years’ experience in a similar role.

Proven experience in cost control, financial analysis, or a related role within the construction industry.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of construction project management software such as P6, Microsoft project, Bluebeam, CAD, etc.

Detail-oriented.

Adaptable, driven, and motivated with a desire for continuous growth.
