Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position is responsible for safely transporting guests and customers as they tour our hometown and is occasionally asked to transport people for special events and other related community functions. This position warmly welcomes guests, assists, and shares helpful information in a friendly and efficient manner. When not driving, this position provides much of the support for the "behind the scenes" effort that makes the customer experience look flawless by helping with the day-to-day front and back of the house operations. While in the driver's seat, this role works closely with fellow tour guides, ensuring an enjoyable and safe ride for all passengers and is a vital member of our Community Tours Team. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.
Part Time, On Site Position
Competitive Salary based on experience: starting at $13.00 an hour.
Responsibilities:
- Drive trolleys and community vehicles in a safe manner, always maintain a safe driving record.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s), both interior and exterior, throughout the day.
- Keep adequate fuel levels and notify proper entities of any maintenance needs.
- Drop off trolleys and vehicles for maintenance and repair as requested.
- Understand how to utilize maps, giving clear and accurate directions or use written directions to facilitate routes.
- Maintain a general working knowledge of The Villages amenities and services.
- Know the path to becoming a Villager and the appropriate people to assist along the way.
- Always cultivate an inviting and friendly environment in all areas; being a great team player.
- Sign up guests and residents for trolley tours, ensure a seamless experience for all.
- Provide a welcoming door service for all who visit any of the Sales Centers, smile and acknowledge every guest.
- Assist with stock, orders, preparation, and clean-up of our refreshment stations, keep all host working areas organized and clean.
- Reserve and monitor sales parking areas during special events to ensure parking for our Sales guests and employees.
- Attend to other special duties and other various destinations as well as events throughout our community.
- Utilize applicable computer software programs to assist in daily operations (ex: checking email, etc.).
- Attend special meetings, educational sessions and assist leadership in ongoing training of new team members.
- All other duties as assigned.
- No educational pre-requisite.
- Must have a clear, valid CDL with passenger air brake endorsement to company standards.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
- This position requires strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for The Villages and all it has to offer, a desire to serve in a support role and the ability to problem solve to handle a variety of variables.
- Must be able to communicate with customers confidently and effectively.
- This position is subjected to The Villages Vehicle Safety Program and its policies as it requires the use of personal vehicles for company business. Please refer to the Vehicle Safety Program for the policies and procedures that this position is required to follow.
- A Valid Driver's License with a record acceptable to company standards is required for this position.
