Job Description

As an Instrument Controls Technician, some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Make electrical repairs to modern high-speed packaging equipment.
  • Perform preventive/predictive electrical maintenance tasks .
  • Analyzing and addressing the root causes of electrical issues in order to repair complex electrical equipment.
  • Maintaining AB, Siemens, and GE microprocessors (PLC), Servo motor drives, operator interface terminals (HMI), and Fanuc and ABB robotic systems.
  • Reading and using diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records and data using maintenance software.
Responsibilities
  • Have a basic knowledge of electronics and electrical theories, including digital circuitry, AC/DC theory, microprocessors, and logic systems.
  • Can work independently and use judgement to make effective and timely decisions.
  • Can work as a member of an electrical team and communicate technical information to other personnel.
  • Are comfortable working on a computer and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Qualifications
  • Electrical Technical School / Military equivalent or 2+ years Industrial electrical experience.
  • Have exposure to automated controls systems in a high-speed application.
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of PLC controls and computers.
  • Have current or past Low Voltage Safety Qualification (LVQ).
