PaaS L3 - Job Description - Weblogic/JBoss
Insurance's CTO organization is seeking an experienced PaaS Level 3 Engineer to support Web & App hosting Middleware tools across projects and applications. Overall responsibility for managing and maintaining Weblogic/JBoss platforms used by various application development teams. Serve as development teams Weblogic/JBoss SME and provide guidance on any Weblogic/JBoss and/or related environment matters. Monitor and review requirements for software, hardware and system defects. Prioritize and multi-task within a high-pressured environment. Analyze/Design system requirements, scripts, and programs. Constant interactions across several support towers and various IT team members
Responsibilities Include
•This role will function with in a diversely skilled team and will be the lead WebLogic/JBoss administrator
•Must have some prior Development experience and Function as a technical generalist responsible for the overall health and performance of an application and/or environment platform
•Collaborate with Development teams to discuss, analyze, or resolve application and usability issues and suggest engaging the Technology Engineer for any new requirements, which are not defined, in standard architecture design document (TAD).
•Document installation and configuration procedures to allow maintenance and repetition as well as maintaining this documentation.
•Creates, updates, and maintains environment, process, and procedural documentation
•Works with the application team to plan, perform, and maintain routine application and product modifications, enhancements, and upgrades
•Configure, upgrade, and maintain Weblogic/JBoss platforms
•Deploy and configure software applications and/or environment changes in compliance with software development life cycle (SDLC) procedures
•Provides deployment support and/or facilitation to development and/or operational group(s)
•Serving as an escalation point of contact for our Level-2 and Level-1 team
•perform 24x7 on call duties on a rotation basis with the other Weblogic/JBoss administrator. Also handling Sev-1/2 Issues reported.
Required Qualifications
•Minimum 10-15 Years of extensive experience in the IT industry
•Minimum of 8 years' experience working with middleware platforms (Weblogic/JBoss)
•Working knowledge in Java middleware servers including WebSphere, Weblogic/JBoss, Tomcat, and JBoss
•Experience with JDBC, Web Services, Security standards, AD, SSL
•Should have worked on JMS and should be able to troubleshoot the issues wisely performance issue, connectivity issues with other applications and should have worked on SSL configurations
•Extensive experience working with Weblogic/JBoss Server 10.x to 12c Administration, Installation, Configuration and Monitoring
•Demonstrated use of WLST, Python and ANT scripting tools to automate and monitor the WebLogic routine tasks
•Experience in Installation, Configuration and Administration of Web Servers (Tomcat, Apache and Oracle HTTP Server [OHS])
•Experience in 24x7 on-call production support and troubleshooting
•Experience in finding the Memory Leaks and adjusting the JVM Heap Sizes and GC Parameters.
•Experience in Investigating and resolving performance issues by analyzing thread dump, GC values and heap dump
•Experience with configuring SSL: 1- way SSL and 2 - way SSL configuration.
•Extensive working experience on clustering, performance tuning(JVM options, Load Runner), load balancing, connection pool, multi pool, JMS message Queue and Monitoring
•Strong knowledge in UNIX and Windows
•Good understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
•Knowledge of various protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS and SOAP.
•Knowledge in Node Manager Configuration, remote managed server start and stop, SSL communication between admin server and node manager.
•Experienced in installing Certificates on various Web Servers and BEA Weblogic/JBoss Application Server Platforms and SSL.
•Knowledge configuring Web Server plug-ins (APACHE, Tomcat, OHS) for the Web Logic server
•Knowledge on the DevOps tools sets like uDeploy/Jenkins and ServiceNow, Ansible.
