Job Description:Sr. Power Electronics Test EngineerJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Power Electronics Test Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Power Electronics Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our products through rigorous testing and validation processes.Key Responsibilities:Lead board-level and product-level testing of integrated hardware and firmware during product development phase.Lead verification, including tracing requirements, creating test protocols, performing tests, and documenting test reports for high-voltage high-power converters and low voltage racker controller products.Build prototype components and assemblies, optimizing components to meet system requirements.Conduct the validation, qualification, and selection process for semiconductors and magnetics, among other components inside the hardware designs.Develop test algorithms and automated scripts, data acquisition and measurement systems, and test fixtures to support prototype and production testing with a focus on repeatability and reproducibility for PCA verification.Develop and refine prototyping and release strategies to optimize the efficiency, yield, and product quality during the development phase.Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.Collaborate closely with design engineers to identify test requirements, define test strategies, and troubleshoot design issues.Conduct electrical, thermal, and mechanical testing on power electronic components and systems, analyzing test data and providing actionable insights.Lead failure analysis investigations to identify root causes of test failures and implement corrective actions.Interface with suppliers and external test labs to coordinate testing activities and ensure compliance with quality standards.Qualifications:Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering with a proven record of working in Power Electronics Labs building or testing power electronics.6+ years of experience in power electronics design, development, and manufacturing.Solid understanding of high-voltage power systems, DC/DC (isolated and non-isolated), and DC/AC topologies used in high-power converters.Proficiency in testing methodologies for power electronic components and systems, including electrical characterization, thermal analysis, and reliability testing.Experience in identifying corner cases for testing, creating test setups, conducting tests, and reporting and analyzing test results for power electronics projects.Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal chambers, and data acquisition systems.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for power electronics testing, such as IEC, IEEE, and UL standards.Solid understanding of Python and extensive experience in developing test scripts, communicating with various test instruments, and running automated tests.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify potential issues.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.At Nextracker, we are leading in the energy transition, providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar tracker and software solutions for solar power plants, as well as strategic services to capture the full value of solar power plants for our customers.
