Position Summary

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for modeling the 3 Company values of Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence, and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the Company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The IT Business Analyst role is to plan, design, and evaluate efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes includes but not limited to; gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. S/he is responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. The IT Business Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments. S/he is responsible for applying the rules and regulations of state and federal regulatory agencies and other certified agencies.
Position Specific Responsibilities

Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
Collaborate in the planning, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to support teams and vendors.
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree preferred.
Five (5) or more years of experience in Business Analysis preferred.
Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products and proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies required.

Skills

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, colleagues, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy. Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts. Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user friendly language.
