**Job Description**
Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for mortgage loans.
**ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Manages the day-to-day functions of a mortgage branch and its employees.
* Analyzes applications and uses good judgment in deciding applications for mortgage loans; follows company credit policies and utilizes internal risk scorecard in determining credit worthiness of applicant.
* Ensures company service levels are upheld; completes decision process within the designated time frame from receipt of application.
* Follows established department policy in regards to decision level and authority.
* Works with funding/fulfillment employees to answer questions and expedite processes.
* Utilizes consistent lending practices to increase volume.
* Follows-up daily on approvals to maintain or exceed minimum required capture ratios.
* Develops and maintains a positive relationship with loan originators/aggregators.
* Decisions a minimum number of applications daily as set by the department.
* Responsible for complying with the various rules, regulations, policies and ethical standards governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Management responsibility includes assigning and controlling work, hiring and firing, annual reviews and salary/bonus recommendations of all employees in the assigned Branch.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 3 to 5 years related work experience
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
* Working knowledge of Mortgage/Branch Operations.
* Management/supervisory experience required
* Ability to perform in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality results.
* Ability to understand and interpret all major credit bureaus.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent leadership, problem solving and time management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
* Excellent understanding and application of Fair Lending Laws.
**ROUTINE DECISIONS AND FORMAL POLICY SETTING**
* Decisions applications for mortgage loans daily.
* Formally responsible for making recommendations regarding policies associated with the jobs purpose and essential responsibilities
