Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:
- Initiate, prepare, process, and verify purchase orders in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring materials and goods are acquired by required delivery dates.
- Input transactions and manage a purchasing and contracts system or database efficiently.
- Engage with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing terms, obtain product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings.
- Expedite delayed orders and effectively resolve issues of changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to promptly and efficiently meet procurement needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field.
- Proficiency in executing a wide range of complex duties independently, with general guidance from supervisors.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish productive relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Familiarity with purchasing and contracts systems or databases.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work collaboratively with internal teams.
