Full Time Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Job Summary This position supports the core functions of the clinical information systems to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient and sage patient care. This position assists physicians, nurses and other staff with issue resolution related to the electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical applications. The Clinical IS Coordinator will assist in problem determination, system design and program testing. The individual must be able and committed to communicate and provide assistance to all hospital associates as it relates to the clinical application. Essential Job Duties Clinical Information Systems & IT Systems

Assigns security codes for new employees, based on access required for their job duties, as notified by Human Resources. Modifies security access based on requests from the employee's supervisor.

Assigns and monitors IS access for non-employees (Physicians, Allied Health) and inactivates IS access if not logged on within last 30 days. Inactivates IS access for terminated employees, physicians and allied health based on notification from supervisor, Human Resources or Medical Staff Office. Troubleshoots IS access and security issues via Help Desk requests from clinical users.

Troubleshoots computer problems as they arise, consults with IT staff as needed for issues that cannot be resolved. Assists with deployment of IT equipment to departments, able to troubleshoot printer and technology equipment issues.

Lead/participate in implementing large clinical process change initiatives across the clinical setting in ambulatory, outpatient and inpatient departments. Serves as a primary liaison/resource regarding clinical workflows and technology between solution workgroups, clients and vendors. As part of the health care team, assumes accountability for ensuring smooth Clinical workflow processes across ambulatory clinics. Effectively works as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify solutions to improve efficiency and the delivery of safe patient care. Serves as a resource for multiple

applications/systems. Participates as a clinical workflow resource for new implementations as well as ongoing optimization of existing products and workflows. Responsible for making timely, effective decisions in relation to assigned products. This position will have contact with both external and internal customers and is expected to work in a professional manner.

Ongoing Development & Education

Holds monthly computer systems orientation sessions for newly hired nursing staff to ensure proper use of systems. Orients all physicians and allied health personnel to clinical system for patient data review to ensure appropriate use and understanding of systems. Maintains an awareness of vulnerabilities in information resources and reports to supervisor. Relays suggestions to workforce activities that may be beneficial to audit. Provides feedback to supervisor of needs to increase internal awareness to familiarize employees with security policies, issues and recommended practices. Maintains an understanding of back-up plans and disaster recovery plans.

Knowledge & Communication

Knowledge of clinical and other information systems applicable. Skills in performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities required. Skills in interpersonal relationships with ability to get along with diverse personalities and ability to be tactful, mature and flexible required. Skills in time management with the ability to work independently and take initiative required.

Requirements Associates or Bachelors Degree in IT or healthcare related field preferred. Additional education and/or certification in Informatics preferred. Three to five years active and progressive experience in a patient care setting required. Preference will be given to applicants with prior healthcare information systems or IT systems experience.
