Position Overview:
  • As an Engineer, candidate will be expected to help the team craft data solutions to meet business and enterprise requirements using Linux, Shell, Perl, Python, Oracle Exadata and emerging data technologies within a modern orchestrated CI/CD DevOps supported data pipeline.
Position Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong emphasis on Linux development.
  • Strong Practical working experience in Linux server configuration and shell scripting.
  • Solid understanding of SSH/SFTP including public key authentication and configuration options.
  • Practical knowledge of Unix file systems including basics of mount types, permissions, standard tools, pipes.
  • Working knowledge of Python and preferably also Perl.
  • Experience using and/or configuring common SDLC tools that support Agile, such as Jira, Jenkins, Ansible
  • Practical working experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle Exadata
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Passion for automation and continual process improvement
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience
  • Bachelors degree in STEM related field.
  • Practical working experience using ETL tools, preferably Informatica - desired.
  • Experience designing and building data warehouses and knowledge of the data flows involved - desired.
  • Familiarity with Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Business Intelligence concepts - desired.
  • Willingness to take on problems outside of current skillset and experience - desired.
