This is a highly collaborative role, integrated with various members of the Clinic's treatment team including licensed mental health professionals. The mental health practitioner may also carry a caseload of Skills Training for clients, as assigned.About Lorenz ClinicLorenz Clinic is known for its distinctive approach to child and family psychology that integrates developmental, systemic, experiential, and trauma-informed models. Our clinic realizes the distinctive role relationally-focused child and family providers have within the mental health profession. With four locations located on the outer edge of the metro area, the clinic works to expand access to mental healthcare services for all in need. The Mental Health Practitioner I position is not part of Lorenz Clinic's formal training program. The IOP Program The IOP department offers intensive, relational psychotherapy groups for children and adults. The IOP program is not a generalist program; it leverages interpersonal process to bring about change through offering corrective interpersonal experiences for children and adults who have experienced relational injuries. Job DutiesJob duties include:Perform skills-training services under supervision of a mental health professional and in conjunction with psychotherapyCarry and maintain a caseload as determined by the ClinicCollaborate with mental health professionals to create and implement clinical treatment plansProvide clinical services including preschool day treatment and group skills trainingAttend and actively participate in individual and/or group supervision, monthly case consultation, Grand Rounds, business meetings, and other meetings as required by the ClinicComply with clinical documentation standards and deadlines as outlined by the ClinicUtilize the Clinic's electronic health record to maintain the clinical chartMaintain HIPAA compliance at all timesStrictly comply with licensing board rules and APA and AAMFT Codes of EthicsMaintain professionalism in all interactions with staff, patients, and business associates of the ClinicBill appropriate procedural codes accurately and timelyKeep abreast of billing issues and discuss with patients when necessaryAssist in intermittent peer-reviews of patient filesAdhere to additional directives by applicable direct clinical and administrative supervisorsOther duties as assignedRequirementsQualificationsMeet the Mental Health Practitioner requirements as per MN State Statute 2451.04.04. These qualifications include the following:Hold a Master's degree or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fieldsHold a Bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields AND 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to people with mental illness. Candidates who have completed a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served, and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields may qualify and are encouraged to apply regardless of whether they have 2000 hours of experience. Have 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to people with mental illnessPrior experience with Developmental Repair, Reflective Supervision, Child Parent Psychotherapy, DBT, or Functional Family Therapy models (strongly preferred) *For a full breakdown of the requirements as listed in MN State Statute 245I, please reach out to the human resources team.
